USA, WI: Wisconsin Brewing Company to acquire Lake Louie Brewery
Wisconsin Brewing Company will acquire Lake Louie Brewery, according to an announcement on May 19.
This is the first purchase involving two brick and mortar breweries in Wisconsin since Miller acquired Leinenkugels in 1988. Conversations about the sale began about two years ago.
Wisconsin Brewing intends to offer jobs to all the employees of Lake Louie.
The Arena area brewery will continue to operate and be used for brands under the Lake Louie banner and special projects for Wisconsin Brewing.
“After 20 great years, we maxed out our brewery. The option was to either borrow a ton of money and expand or merge with a great group of people whom I’ve known and respected for decades,” Tom Porter of Wisconsin Brewing said.
The official purchase is expected to be completed by July 1.
